It really is fun to be in a foreign country and to experience the culture and traditions. But enough of the fireworks already!! Indepence Day has NOTHING on Chinese New Year when it comes to these bright displays of color and heart stopping noise. We knew there would be fireworks, but we just didn't know to what extent. They have been sold in street side tents for weeks now, and underground markets I'm sure.
I am not kidding when I say that we have heard them off and on all day, and NON STOP since about 4:00 p.m. We can see them from our windows. They are all around us, including right in the courtyard of our compound. I have no idea how the girls managed to get to sleep and stay that way. Morgan did find her way into our bed, but is once again fast asleep. If there is even the slightest calm moment and I manage to fall asleep, I am suddenly awakened moments later by a thunderous boom. I need ear plugs, and some Tylenol.
