Chinese Cooking 102

OK...lets try this again. Without the help of Sophia, I managed to make a pretty decent Chinese meal for us last night. This time the menu called for shredded pork with vegetables and pan fried noodles.

Sophia was busy playing with Morgan and Mark was playing with Molly, so I knew it was safe to get in the kitchen and make dinner on my own. I followed the recipe from my new Asian style cookbook and made only one substitution - I used orange juice instead of cooking sherry. The recipe called for pork and a variety of vegetables such as carrots, celery, broccoli, cauliflower, onion and red pepper and egg noodles. The sauce was basically soy sauce, the Orange juice and chicken broth.

Everything turned out great. Well, actually the noodles were a little overcooked. But considering the package they came in was entirely in Chinese, I couldn't figure out exactly how long they needed to boil. But overall, the flavor was great and the whole family enjoyed the meal. It was given 2 thumbs up and the go ahead to make it again for another night.
