Oh. My. Gosh.

Mark was off of work on Monday.  We decided to keep Morgan home from school for a family outing.  Our plan was to take the girls to Everland Amusement Park.  (Korea's take on Disney.)  We thought it would take about 1 1/2 hours to drive there and left the house by 8:30 in hopes of being in the park by 10 am.  Ha!  Silly us to assume anything would go as planned in Korea.

THREE HOURS later, we were still in the car.  It took us 2 hours to get from the highway exit to the inside of Everland's welcome gate.  We were stuck in traffic with every other Seoul-ite and their brothers, and sisters, and cousins.  We couldn't even see the parking lot.  What a disaster!!!  If the driveway into the park was this bad, we knew the park was going to be a nightmare.

Morgan was really disappointed, but eventually we were able to convince her that turning around and going home was the best option.  We did promise to return though and maybe even stay one night at the resort and see the water park too.  We made it home in less than 1 hour and spent the rest of the day at the Seoul Club swimming pool.  We have learned our lesson and will never attempt to go to Everland on the day before a holiday.

Turns out we weren't the only ones that had enough of sitting in the car.  Several other expats were in the same situation as us and also turned around to go home that day.
