So much fun! We attended the Queen's Birthday Ball last night. The theme was the British Seaside and it was amazing. This ball ranks right up at the top of our list of Best Balls we've attended while in Asia. Every little detail was just right and it made for a wonderful night. Of course we were with friends which made the night even more magical. Enjoy the pics below.
Mark with his white salesman shoes. The guys at work bought these for Mark as a gag gift. They laugh about him being able to sell anything to anyone. So just for fun, he put them on for a pic.
Cocktails! This is everyone waiting to go into the Ballroom. The theme for the evening is kept secret until the ballroom doors open. As you can see it was a large event. There were over 500 people.
The ballroom decorations. Ice cream cone centerpieces, the wait staff dressed as carnival workers, cabanas lined up on one side of the room.
They had taffy and peppermint sticks on the table, along with other boardwalk favorites. One thing about these balls is that you don't go home empty handed. The ladies all received a Chanel gift bag with lipstick and lipgloss, and the men received a bottle of Scotch.
The band performing a few nostalgic songs before dinner.
Once again, personalized ice sculptures. This time a shovel and pale. Cute!!
For dessert....paradise apple, a raspberry cupcake, and a strawberry sundae.
Mark and our friend Kristin. Kristin also works for GM. Mark actually worked with her in MI and TN. Her family has been her for 3 years now and they are heading home this month.
Everyone having a good time. But yes, that is a nun on the dance floor.
Me and Minah. This is Mark's admin at work that helps us out with way more than we could ever expect. She is super sweet.
More dancing. The man in the red jacket is actually Morgan's T-Ball coach. He is here in Seoul, working for the Canadian Embassy.
