Thursday Night Fun

On Thursday night I took the girls to the Seoul Club for a special dinner with friends.  The club has a new promotion on Thurs, an Italian Buffet.  Excellent, by the way!  Morgan, Molly and I met up with a group of friends.  4 moms, 1 grandma, & 8 kids.

I feel the need to brag a little.  Our girls were angels and had the best restaurant manners I have seen in a while.  I was so happy and proud to be their Mommy.  I told them this too on the the way home.  Mark and I get frustrated when the girls misbehave, but they showed their true colors last night.  *sigh*  My girls!!!

I think it was during my third trip to the buffet to get more pizza for Molly, when I was approached by the current Elementary School PTA coordinator.  She was about to ask me if I would....and I was about to say "yes, I do plan on coordinating the Daddy Daughter Dance next year", when she finished her sentence.  She asked if I would be the Elementary School PTA coordinator for the next school year.  What?!?!?  Who put my name on the list for that???  It is a HUGE job.  And when I asked her to email me what the responsibilities are, she couldn't even give me a straight answer.  We've agreed to talk again later, when our kids aren't begging for more food in a busy buffet room.  But really??  How did I go from dance coordinator to Elementary School Coordinator??

Overall, Thursday turned out to be a great day.  Our girls were a big part of that.  I am still so proud of them for how well they behaved compared to the other kids in our group.  I must be beaming.  Can you see it on your side of the world??

Morgan's School Easter Party

Here are pics from today' Easter party!

The kids made a 3-D egg craft.
I made these cute marshmallow bunnies for today's snack.  The kids made a "bunny garden" with chocolate pudding, green coconut and a marshmallow bunny.  It was a huge hit.
(Thanks Nancy for helping me figure this out.)
Colored eggs.  Morgan's are in the back on the right.  One yellow, one pink.
Easter egg hunt.  The kids all decorated baskets and filled them up for the egg hunt.
The weather has been so nice this week.  Morgan was happy to wear knee socks with her skirts instead of tights.

Morgan & Ellie.  Ellie came to our house for a play date this week and is welcome back anytime.  They played so nice together, and she is sooo sweet.

Cherry Blossoms

It is Cherry Blossom season here in Seoul.  I went on a walking tour today the British women's group to see the blossoms and take some pics.  It was such a beautiful day and I couldn't stand to leave Molly home, so she came with.  It's a little early and the cherry blossoms weren't blooming, but our little Molly sure was.  Check out my little model.

Is she cute of what?!?!?

So big!!
Happy girl!

Cheeky little monkey, that one.

Korean style "geisha" house from the 1970's.  This building is currently rented out for functions.  No more Korean Geisha's.

Working Out

I'm still getting to the gym several times a week and doing well with my workouts.  I obviously missed workouts while Mark and I were away, and I missed a few last week because life can get busy.  The trainers at the gym give you a hard time if you miss one day, let alone one week.  It seems as if they really expect you to be there every day for hours on end.  Today I finally explained to them that I have 2 young daughters at home, its a 45 min car ride to get to the gym, and that I am working out at home even on days that I don't get to the gym.  They weren't buying it.  But at least I feel good about what I've been doing lately.

The weight loss competition ends in about 2 weeks, and I'm sure I wont be winning the grand prize.  But that's not the point, is it?!?!  I can see that I'm losing weight, and I definitely feel better.  That's the best prize of all.  It's definitely frustrating to be putting so much effort in and not seeing instant results.  The joys of getting older.  (That might also explain the batch of chocolate chip cookies that were baked over the weekend.)   I'll continue to do my workouts even after the program is complete and will continue to feel good about what I'm accomplishing.

Morgan's School

Here is a picture from Saturday's t-ball practice which shows Morgan's school in the background.  There is a theatre/stage and "Spirit Shop" on the ground level.  The cafeteria, offices and Kindergarten classrooms are on the next level, and the upper elementary grades are on the top floor.  On the right side of the picture is the HS.  Not pictured is the Gym/pool, middle school, business offices or British School.  It's a pretty big "campus" as you can imagine.  You can also see our t-baller in the picture, guarding 3rd base.

Our Terrific T-Baller

Morgan started T-ball today and she did great!  We are so proud of our little girl for trying something new, doing so well at it, and having such a positive attitude about it all.  Just like soccer, this a school sponsored activity.  She'll have practice and games on Saturdays for the next 2 months.  It was fun to see her get acquainted with the glove and bat today.  She had 2 big hits and loved every minute of it.  There are only 2 teams which consist of several boys from her class.  She is one of 2 girls that signed up this season.  We are proud of our t-baller and are looking forward to the coming Saturday games.

Our Star!
Molly!

Molly is still her Daddy's Girl!  She knows when it is the weekend and stays attached to Mark the whole time.
Showing off her team shirt.  Morgan is on the Rangers.
Blowing bubbles!!
Looking so professional on the field.
More bubbles.
Morgan had 2 GREAT hits today!  Go Morgan!

Lotte World

Morgan was off from school today.  So we met up with friends and went to Lotte World.  This is a Disney wannabe amusement park filled with rides, attractions and fun.  The park is indoor/outdoor and has so much to offer.  We stayed inside today and went on rides such as a Log Flume, Pirate Ship, Teacups, Carousel, a monorail and more.  The kids had a really fun time and were able to go on most rides.  We'll definitely be back.

Picture taken from inside the car of the monorail.

Conner, Morgan, Brendan & Ryan on the Hopper.  The kid's LOVED this ride and went on no less than 10 times today.
Train time.
Molly & I on the carousel.
Can't go to a theme park without Cotton Candy!
I wish I could record her laugh and add it to this picture.  She was squealing with excitement in this ball play room.
